indian weddings

Enchanting and enthralling drumbeats, plethora of relatives who vanish into mere oblivion turn up for this special occasion, mouth watering delicacies from every possible cuisines
..... confused????????yes ladies and gentlemen let me open the Pandora's box this event is none other than the big fat Indian wedding one of the most awaited event in an Indians life.Preparations for this high end project begin months ago with frenzied friends and relatives exploring every nook and corner of the city to find the most glimmering dresses that leaves others astonished and perplexed.Hours spent searching for the most royal place rather than a close -knit place that reflects the warmth and affection of this beautiful relationship..Money is squandered unmindfully right from making the wedding card intricate to using the most expensive orchids for decoration even if it means making both ends difficult to meet after this occasion. Top wedding planners are appointed and not even a kockpeck of space is left for this wedding not being the most talked about thing in the town..The groom and bride sitting with utter poise and tranquility in anticipation of heralding a new dawn with relatives assembling around them like a swarm of bestow their blessings and the photographer capturing every moment with thousands of poses as though each defines a new angle of love. may i ask my worthy readers all this hype created about glassy silverware , spectacular decoration define the eternity of this relationship? In this entangled world of money and machinery lets stop for a second and ask ourselves is this what we crave for?should we focus on creating an aura of warmth and happiness rather than an aura of sophistication which satisfies our vanity for a few days.Introspection in my view can spell wonders and with this i rest my case and leave the rest for introspection

HEIGHT OF HYPOCRISY

A bright Sunday morning, the rays of sun greeting us with warmth and happiness. The flowers and trees appeared to be swinging with joy as if celebrating the dawn of this beautiful morning. Everything seemed so vibrant and positive. Then suddenly i saw a girl hardly eleven or twelve years old with unkempt hair, head bowed down with misfortune and poverty. On further inquiry i found that our neighbour had kept her as a maid and ironically her own daughter runs an NGO to educate children. This reminds me of utter hypocrisy prevalent in our society. We never deter to blow our trumpet about how generous we are in donating our unused things to poor, how we are actively involve and spend our precious time in working with NGOs for a noble cause. But deep inside our hearts we know we utterly crave for that fake respect and credit which will quench our thirst for that unwanted fame and recognition. We humans are basically sensation seekers and want to crave a niche for ourselves in the society by any means. We support a cause not because we are passionate about it but we long for the edge it will give us as compared to to others in the society. Until and unless we break the chain of hypocrisy that enslaves us,we would never get the invaluable peace of mind and happiness which are precious gems that make life worth living.
